Stupid Drivers

Every day on my drive home I cover 5 or 6 freeways. Some of them (especially the 26-405) have pretty jammed interchanges… quite possibly due to the fact that the freeways and roads up here are incredibly poorly laid out.  I’m always surprised that the slowness isn’t caused by accidents, but I figure it’s probably because everyone’s going so slow. Yesterday I got rear ended by some nice jackass who pulled off to the side of the road for all of 2 seconds and then got the heck out of the area. The person in front of me pulled of for 2 seconds, made sure there was no damage to his car and took off. Seriously, the only nice person on the road was the one who let me back into the lane on the freeway. No one wanted to be a witness for the accident. No one wanted to make sure I was ok (I was in the process of calling 911 when everyone else took off… apparently they were all ok).

What a hassle! I didn’t get home for 2 hours after I got smashed into (I had to stop at an Oregon police station to file a report) and now I’ll have to get my car repaired and find a rental car for a few days. The good news is that I already had a chiropractic appointment scheduled for today and my bumper seems to be the only thing damaged (boy did it do its job well!). Overall I’d rate the whole experience about an 7 on the annoying scale… it’d get higher except I don’t have any major injuries. Grr. Stupid Drivers.

Nicole The Shopper

This whole wedding thing has me shopping all the time. I will probably never again in my whole life drop so much money on myself in such a short span of time.

Yesterday my hair dryer died at the gym, so I stopped by Ulta on my way home to pick up a new one. While I was there I decided it would be a good idea to see what their girl would do for my eyeshadow for the wedding… and I loved it (Bare Escentuals glimmers in Celestine for the base and Queen Tiffany for the shadow). So the eye shadows, plus a new eye shadow brush, plus some nice nail polish (Seche’s ridge filling basecoat, rose lacquer, and vita top coat) for my nails that I’ll most likely be wearing for the wedding. A pricey outing, but it’ll be totally worth it for the wedding (plus I can wear the stuff every other day too!).

Today I’m thinking about starting shopping for undergarments for the wedding. Fortunately I’ll be considering some cheaper options to begin with (Nordstrom’s Rack, Ross, JcPenny’s, then Meier & Frank and Nordstrom if need be) and I’m hoping that’ll pan out.

I swear, it’s all shopping all the time over here! It’s fun (sometimes), but I wish it didn’t hurt my bank account quite so much!

Wedding Question

We finally found a cake knife and server that we like… should we get one or both engraved?

A Change to Commenting

I didn’t realize that when I upgraded my WordPress they had changed a few things… like comments. Since I don’t use their standard template my site didn’t automatically fix the problem. But thanks to Jess bringing it to my attention, it is now fixed.

Since I like to respond to people’s comments, I’m going to start requiring valid e-mail addresses. But, I promise that they will never appear anywhere on the website (or even just in the code). I am the only one who will ever see them. Alternatively, if you’re worried about that you can register for the site (see right hand side) and then log in to post. If you have any questions just drop me an e-mail.

A Little Bit of Me Time

Jesse is going to his first chiropractic seminar this weekend(it’s 10 hours every other Saturday for 2 months). All I can think is: “Fantastic, I’ll go get my nails done and make valentines!” I don’t really like to go out and do things like get my nails done on weekends since Jesse is home and there’s a chance we’ll get to do something together. This whole seminar thing totally frees up my Saturday for anything I want. I’m excited. Even though I won’t be doing a whole lot different, it’s going to be a nice and relaxing day for me to get caught up on my things (not just laundry and spinning class and cleaning the bathroom like normal).
