So, Who Is This Nicole Person?

What type of person do I see myself as? Do I spend my time doing the things that type of person would do? These questions have been haunting me for months. As much as I’m interested in figuring out what type of person I’d like to be, I think it’s most important to start with who I am now. Let’s start with some of the basics about me.

Basic facts:
Name: Nicole
Age: 21
Height: 5’5
Weight: 141 (and dropping)
Hair: Blonde, just above chin length
Eyes: Blue

Currently I’m a senior Cognitive Science major at Pomona College. Don’t know what Cognitive Science is? Yea, most people don’t. Basically, I study how the brain/mind functions. I take classes mainly from Psychology, Computer Science, Linguistics, and Philosophy. I spend most of my days running experiments that look at how aging can effect language and thought processes.

When I’m not busy with school (or when I shove it out of the way momentarily), I spend most of my time with Jesse. We’ve been together for about 3 1/2 years and will be moving to Portland upon graduation next year. Yes, we make people want to gag when they see how cute we are… but we’re happy together, so we won’t be stopping anytime soon (all you gaggers will have to get used to it).

I’ve also been working at eating properly and exercising a lot over the past year or so. I just bought a bike this past summer and every time I’m home (in Lakeside with mom) I try to get a few rides in. I eat low carb because I think it’s the healthiest way to eat, not to mention I feel fantastic doing it and have so much more energy than I ever did in the past. This whole exercise and nutrition thing may have been the start of me trying to figure out what kind of person I am and if that lines up with what kind of person I want to be. I never used to see myself as a fit person though I’ve always exercised, so I’m working on changing that. With the bike and now my occasional outdoor runs, I’m also working on spending more of my time outdoors in active, fun ways.
