We caught part of Garfield on TV - the part with Odie and Garfield dancing to a music video and I realized I’ve been very wrong about the movie. I never even considered the potential Odie cuteness. You’d think they’d mention cuteness like this.

If you care about what is in your food, please go read and leave a comment about how the FDA is proposing to allow the production of genetically engineered farm animals to enter into our food supply without even being labelled as such. Here’s an article about it from the Boston Globe: Gene-altered animals and food safety.
PERHAPS you’re still getting used to the idea that some of the meat, milk, and cheese you are eating may come from cloned cows or their offspring, a controversial culinary advance that the Food and Drug Administration green-lighted in January after deeming food from clones to be safe. Well, hurry up and swallow, because the next course is on its way.
Largely unnoticed due to the mayhem of the markets and the presidential race, the FDA recently proposed rules that would allow, for the first time, the marketing of foods from genetically engineered farm animals as well. Unlike clones - which are weirdly procreated from a single parent but are otherwise conventional creatures - engineered animals have had their DNA codes rewritten to endow them with traits never before seen in those species.
Fun times. Now go on, leave a comment for the FDA and try to make a difference. I for one at least want to know if I’m eating genetically engineered meat.

Ok, I think we missed the boat. We watched There Will Be Blood tonight. It was ok. I mean, good cinematic quality. Interesting score. Amazing acting. Novel topic. But highly disturbing. One time through was more than enough for me. Especially since by the time it was over it was just about bed time.
Thankfully, I checked out Sophia’s most recent Tuesday Favorites post which gave me a good laugh so that now maybe I can get to sleep and not dream about… well, I don’t even know what kind of dreams the movie would give me.
Does anyone have some insight into the movie that might help me appreciate it more?

As of today, Jesse is done with national boards. Now, we just need to get him through the rest of this quarter (which does involve classes, finals and a big school exam) and next quarter (which is purely clinic work)… then he’ll be an honest to goodness chiropractor. Time sure does fly!

I take my lunch to work pretty much every day. It’s cheaper and more nutritious and plus it means I get a fun lunch box. I bought this cute thing (Built NY Gourmet Getaway - mine is the French Bull Vine design shown above) at the end of October. It’s neoprene which means I can just throw it in the wash when it gets dirty. Plus, it’s flexible, so it fits pretty much whatever I put in it. I originally thought that I had to have a lunch bag with a shoulder strap, but because of the flexibility of this one, I can slip my hand through the handles if I’m doing my pack mule impression and don’t have an extra hand for my lunch. I highly recommend one like this if you’re in the market (it even does a great job at keeping things cool)!
